Dear Cornerstone Patients and Families:
Many of you know that I’ve been pursuing my Masters of Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill (even though I’m a diehard Wolfpacker!). I am working towards my MPH in Public Health Leadership, and I’ll likely be finishing in 2018. It is my hope to work in advocacy and communications at some point in the future.
To that end, I’ll be retiring from Cornerstone Pediatrics after 22+ years of practice. When I started in 1995, 7 months pregnant with my first child, I had no idea that I would spend my entire medical practice career in this one very special place. While I’ve watched my own children grow up and go off to college, I’ve watched yours grow and thrive as well. And I treasure all of the memories you’ve given to me! I am honored that you have trusted me to serve as your pediatrician for all of these years.
My last day will be December 24, 2017. It is very important to me that my patients are well taken care of, and to that end, please know that my partners here at Cornerstone will continue to take excellent care of you. I will no longer be in private pediatric practice, though I am hoping to continue serving children and adolescents through my public health work in pediatrics.
It is a great privilege to have spent my entire medical career here … I feel that Cornerstone, including all of our patients and families, is a huge part of my life.
Thank you so much for allowing me to partner with your families in providing health care for all of these years.
With much affection,
Karen Todd, MD
